about our LANGUAGE groups

La Belle Maison is a traveling language development program designed to bring fun and interactive French language classes right to you door. Whether in-home, at libraries, or within preschool/elementary boundaries, La Belle Maison (LBM) offers customized programming and developmental activities suited for children aged 1.5 years-7 years.

All programming is developed and overseen by bilingual educator and French-American mother of three, Dominique Bourdon Kerins, who holds a Masters Degree from Boston College, and who as10+ years' teaching experience (in both America and France).

At times, free "French for tots" programming is made available at the St Augustine Library (South Branch location); otherwise, please contact us for more information about availability, pricing and curriculum.

about our programming

Group lessons are 20 minutes - 1 hour in duration, as appropriate to age, and comfort levels of those enrolled. (Individual in-home sessions are created according to the age, ability and comfort level of children and parents). Each group, regardless of age or day, consists of four to five structured activities, even though unstructured "free play" is to be expected from all groups in coming and going.

  1. Introductory activity (usually involving singing & dancing, with or without puppets &/or soundtrack)

  2. Gross motor activity (involving active movement through dance, yoga, games or treasure-hunts)

  3. Creative activity (involving a craft, coloring or drawing, independently or in a shared space)

  4. Reading & listening activity (using French pop up books, touch-n-feel books, sound books & more!)

  5. Closing activity (usually involving stickers, singing, dancing & other goodbye-rituals)
